Sleepy Time Brownies

These brownies are a delicious mid-day sweet treat or alternative to to highly sweetened desserts after dinner. Each ingredient is specifically selected to support better sleep for kids and adults alike. It’s important to know that these brownies have a dark chocolate flavor. If you prefer sweeter, you may want to slightly increase the bananas or honey.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 cups oat flour

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa (or cacao)

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1/3 cup raw honey

  • 1/2 cup soy or pea protein milk, unsweetened

  • 2 Tbsp sunflower seed butter, unsweetened (or any other nut or seed butter)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

HOW TO:

  • In separate bowls, mix wet and dry ingredients. When they’re thoroughly mixed, combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix well.

  • Line a roughly 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper. Pour the mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes.

  • Let the brownies cool for about 15 minutes before cutting. Store in the fridge.
